A wonderful day out in North Wales beginning with a comfort stop at the seaside resort of Colwyn Bay en-route to the historic royal town of Caernarfon. With the Snowdonia mountains as a backdrop and wonderful views across the Menai Strait to Anglesey, the town is home to Wales’s most famous castle built in the 13th century by Edward I as a royal palace and military fortress.  Wander around the old streets of the medieval walled town and peruse the market stalls in Castle Square overlooking the harbour and the Welsh Highland Railway Station. Cross the River Seiont to the coastal path or take a stroll along the redeveloped waterfront to the marina.
