A wonderful day out in Northumberland, beginning our day at the historic town of Alnwick, famous for its world-class Gardens, magnificent Castle and Barter Books, housing one of the largest collections of second hands books in Britain situated in a converted railway station. This afternoon we visit Holy Island on the Northumbrian Coast, reached via a causeway at low tide. This peaceful island in beautiful
surroundings is an ideal place for a gentle stroll, taking in Lindisfarne Castle, the Priory Ruins and enjoy a sample of mead at St Aiden's Winery.
